what time you open on Sunday morning??
Quiet place and friendly staff. Loved the chicken caesar wrap I ordered there.
Try the salads! Pleasant staff and clean space. We’re coming back.
Food was good. Came out insanely fast and the server and staff were very pleasant.
MoreFood and service is excellent!!! Best Diner around
We love to go to this diner as a family. It is almost our annual tradition now. Monday we sat in the corner facing the sunset and the driveway. I took several pictures of the light mixing in through the blinds creating a pattern on my loved ones! My black hot tea was strong and rejuvenating as I read the menu. My birthday boy was taking from a plate of mozzarella sticks. My choice was salmon and mashed potatoes and spinach sides. Food is done exactly. No extra stuff and nothing missing. Looks and tastes great. Clean and quiet surrounding. Spacious inside. Great service, prompt and understanding. Others ordered chicken strips and calamari on noodles. Their country potatoe fries are amazing. All items are wiped clean either there itself or the next day at home. Another tradition!
MoreManagers awesome! He remembers you and makes it a point to make you feel important. He checks every table to make sure his customers are satisfied. The foods not bad at all. It’s a comfy little diner, we enjoy coming here for all occasions.
MoreExcellent Service! Excellent Food! Spotless! I recommend it highly!
We had a nice experience. Service was good and quick. When I go to a diner, I like to order a patty melt, and this day was no exception. It was surprisingly bland, unfortunately, and the onions were barely grilled, so there's room for improvement here. Everything else was fine.
MoreHighly recommended! After a very disappointing few years, the Red Oak was repurchased in 2016 by its earlier owners. Now it's again got scrumptious breakfasts, delicious lunches and dinners, attentive service, and -- a must for any New Jersey diner -- excellent coffee. Plenty of parking, easy off- and back on- Rt. 206.
MoreFood is good. Staff was nice and attentive.
It's such a cute place. The staff is very kind and theres a family friendly atmosphere! The food sorta expensive but its plentiful!
MoreService was horrible (felt rushed). And food was NOT worth the price. Do NOT recommend AT ALL!
MoreI had a very nice waitress but didn't like the food very much
Great local diner. We've been coming here for years. Everything you'd expect - from breakfast fare through dinner entrees and desserts. Wait staff is great and the owner is often there ensuring a high-quality experience.
MoreRed Oak diner is a pretty simple diner when it comes to just about everything. But don't be fooled by appearance, the food is great. I had the french toast with sausage and coffee. The french toast was great, nice balance of sweet and savory. Sausage came out hot and juicy. The coffee could be improved.Price: well, I was kind of surprised by that. My bill came to $16. I thought that was high for a simple breakfast.
MoreGreat place for breakfast, tasty food and good service.
Great Breakfast and friendly staff!! My go to for breakfast. 17 years in town this spring.
MoreThe staff is friendly. Food always good.
Good food, nice staff
Good food, reasonably priced. Owner is always there and engaged with customers.
Fantastic New Jersey-style diner. Veggie wrap was awesome!
Shockingly good. I literally had to do the coffee scene from Twin Peaks with the waitress there, because that was a DAMN fine cup of coffee. Very impressive considering it's a diner. Only mediocre food was the matzah ball soup. Everything else was amazing.
MoreIt took an hour for our omelettes to arrive in a sparsely populated dining room, with no updates or explanation. When they arrived, they got mine wrong. The owner made no offer to correct or adjust the price. Bad energy. I will make this a place of last resort.
MoreGreat service, Delicious food, very helpful staff.
Great food and great service, by far the best diner in the area. 100 times better than The Star Diner that place is terrible. If I could give red oak 10 stars I would.
MoreSince the remodel and new ownership, the ROD has really improved. Food is standard diner fare, portions are significant, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. But, unfortunately, the men's room still has a bit of a strong odor, as it has for years on end.
MoreApparently we didn’t buy enough food for 4 people to eat. So they told us we had to pay a extra of 10 dollars, for 2 people, we are a family with 2 kids, and we can’t eat all four orders, so we share two. But they made us pay 2 extra and was very rude. Never coming back, and I don’t recommend coming back either.
MoreThe Cajun Delta omelet is to die for.
Friendly staff, good food. Love the hashbrowns!
Stopped by the Red Oak this morning. Surprised this place wasn't busier. My husband had the Cajun omelet and loved it. I made a change to my Northern omelet (turkey sausage, peppers onions....I removed onions and added potatoes), and it was delicious. If people think this is the old Red Oak, it's not. It's under a new owner and definitely worth a try.
MoreBeen there before for business meetings and usually order food but today I only ordered tea. Owner told me that there will be a $10 charge on top of the tea because I didn’t order food. I thought he was kidding. Who does that? Never will go there again.
MoreMy family & I was just doing a road trip. We happened to past the restaurant to check out their food and style. At first I wasn't sure what to expect because we thought it was closed😳 their wasn't enough customers their. Usually a restuarant looks welcoming from the outside not just the inside this wasn't. Furthermore, we went inside the owner greeted us & we sat down. Our server came with menus and water. We felt uncomfortable things just didn't feel right for us. Nothing on the menu caught our full attention. To not feel so disappointed we ordered something to go and left. I hope to go back after some time and see improvements on menu, cooking and servers. Apart from that I liked the interior style of the restaurant.
MoreI always have a great experience here. Quick service, good food. If it's a cold day, and you're seated on the south end, you may want to keep your jacket on. Despite having Greek owners, it would be nice to have more Greek specialities on the menu since there isn't much selection in the area.
MoreGreat breakfast! Definitely will be putting this place back on my list. I feel that this dinner had gotten a bad wrap from the previous owner. It is back to being what it used to be - a classic diner feel, clean, good food, good prices, with fantastic service.
MoreGot kicked out for bringing my own bottle of water. And the waitress was pleased that we left. I thought a business was in business to make money, not provide terrible customer service and have customers walk out for a bottle of water. Apparently the owner of this establishment is bad at basic math. We took our business across the development to the Chinese restaurant and had Chinese, even though that wasn't in our plans. The bill was $25. The diner owner lost at least $25 in revenue for a bottle of water that costs probably less than $1. This reinforces what I've always said, just because you own a business doesn't mean you know what you're doing 🤷🏻♂️.
MoreService ok. Food not so good.
I love this place. I go for breakfast every chance I get. Bottomless cup of coffee and tasty, hearty meals served by a very friendly staff.
MoreCoffee is good. Food eh..
Very slow, several customers had to get up and grab to go boxes and refill their own water. Unfriendly staff (probably because they're stretched thin). Food was good.
MoreSimple diner, bland food, standard rushed service.
Convenient location. Decent food.
Located on a major state road with high visibility. Plenty of surface parking in multiple lots.Visited on a weekday morning. Maybe 5 people in the diner. Multiple areas for eating. More upscale dining area was closed. Several booths and counter seating available. Oddly enough the corner booth I wanted was on reserve.Very, very nice server Dana, who also handled front desk duties.Clean and comfortable. The mens room needed some attention to the cleaning supplies used, strong antiseptics smell. Odd positioning for the urinals as well. Close together with no dividing wall and awkwardly placed near the 1 sink.Food was ok and a bit pricey. $11 for bacon, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and coffee. Typical NJ Diner offerings available including pastries.
MoreVery nice waitress, so so food.
Home food fresh feel. Great Service. Nice people. Nice Diner. No the usual. A little more at Home feel... Nice touch.
MoreJust had breakfast there and the food was great! Pastrami Bacon, never knew that was a thing but I sure as hell do now. Needless to say I will be back. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Had to wait for owner to check me out when the server could have easily done it but that's me knickpicking. Looking forward to lunch and dinner here.
MoreBest pancakes and waffles ever! Family favorite for us all! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good diner spot!
MoreThey are willing to accommodate special food requests and there is a decent variety of options even for vegans. Food mostly quite good, service usually good. I am a regular. Pleasant environment, upbeat classic pop music always playing. It is a diner, not gourmet, but adequate.
MoreLove this place! Great food!
Very clean, friendly staff, good food
The 3 stars are reflective of our waitress who was amazing! She should be working in a more upscale restaurant. The food was average. The cook ended up making my food wrong. Probably would not return.
